Ethanol
There are many potential feedstocks you can use to produce ethanol. These include corn, cellulose, barley, sugar cane, etc.
Process Plus has expertise in multiple areas of ethanol production. We
can help to improve your operational efficiency by using the right
method for your production.
Currently, ethanol is produced mostly from sugars or starches obtained from fruits and grains. In contrast, cellulosic ethanol is obtained from cellulose, the main component of wood, straw and much of the structure of plants. Cellulosic ethanol is chemically identical to ethanol from corn starch or sugar, but has the advantage that the lignocellulose raw material is highly abundant and diverse.
Selecting the right technology for your refinery is paramount. We can guide you in the selection of the best technology based on your specifications. We act as your technology consultant to facilitate an accurate and efficient conversion of the process technology package into a constructible design.
Members of our staff have been involved in grassroots ethanol plants ranging in capacity from pilot plants to upwards of 100 million gallons per year. The Renewable Fuels team members of Process Plus have been involved in over thirty ethanol projects representing all of the disciplines required for the design of an ethanol facility. Disciplines include Process, Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, and the Instrumentation and Automation design of both the hardware and software associated with the automation package. Process Plus has designed and constructed one of the first cellulosic ethanol pilot plants in the United States.
Our independent position on technologies is your advantage. You benefit from our process engineering expertise to determine the raw materials, the technology, the co-products and feedstock utilization that is right for your requirements.
